Kazaa Lite Modification Features

The exact features of a mod will vary between different patches and different version. The exact features of any versions are listed below

Retro Edition V1.7.2

Removes all empty menu options (they looked bloody stupid!)
Replaces splash screen with one more like the original KaZaA splash
Restores the graphical about box (with the new splash screen)
Restores Theatre background image (with a new KaZaA Lite version!)
Restores the original "My Shared Folder" icon
Renames "My KaZaA" to "My KaZaA Lite" and updates menus and dialogs to reflect this (seemed to make sense)
Changes the "Systray" menu option to a slightly more intuitive "Close to tray" option
Changes the "Close" tray icon popup option to "Exit" (more intuitive)
Restores some of the empty tooltips to provide more intuitive feedback
Changes loads of references to "KaZaA" or "KaZaA Media Dekstop" to "KaZaA Lite"
Alters the "New Version Available" messages to be a bit more informative - They will now direct the user to kazaalite.com or kazaalite.tk
Makes the disabled "Shop" and "Tell-A-Friend" buttons much smaller (and so less noticable)
Restores green gradient bars to certain dialogs
Improves the "You have uninstalled a part..." message to be more informative - It now warns users not to remove cd_clint.dll in future
Improves the "Fragmented network" message - It now directs users to a KaZaA Lite site to look for updates
Alters the text in the "Configure Username" dialog to be more informative - It now encourages users not to enter their real email

I'm not a hacker. I'm not a sad virus maker. My patch does what it says it does, nothing else. It won't open your hard drive up to the entire world. I make these changes to KaZaA Lite because I prefer it this way. I make the changes available to you because I think you'll like them.

Having said that, I have to point out that the KaZaA Lite Retro Edition Patch is provided as is, without warranty, implied or otherwise. Basically, in the highly unlikely event that Retro Edition makes your CPU explode or sleeps with your Mother or something along those "bad" lines, please don't hold me responsible. Tell me, by all means, so I can appologise and remove the patch from the site, but don't sue me. Thanking you.
